with having pride in one's own i
dentity. That is the fundamental
reason.

To be entirely open—though I
choose not to disclose my
chronological age—I walked a long,
agonizing, and ultimately wasteful
path of doubt, inner conflict, and
self-negation before reaching this
chapter of my life. Part of this was
personal, but it was also deeply tied
to the cultural atmosphere of
Japan, where we are conditioned
from childhood to belittle ourselves
and view self-deprecation as a virtue.

Before arriving at my current
name, I legally changed my name
twice due to profound personal
wounds—not as a stage name, but
as my actual legal name. The name
命音 (MEIN) was not handed down
to me by my parents. It was a
sudden, flash of inspiration—a
sacred treasure born from a miracle
of profound meaning and
resonance.

This name represents a sublime
fusion of self-affirmation and
empowerment, blending the
Japanese essence with the Western
concept of "MAIN"—the sovereign
subject, the core. This fusion is
fundamentally rooted in the spiritual
depth of the Japanese language. In
Japanese, every single kanji carries
its own distinct meaning, history,
and spiritual weight. 命 (Mei)
literally translates to the source of
life, and 音 (On) represents the
"sound" of music, which is my
absolute calling. If this name had
been written in simple, soft
*hiragana* characters, it would
have been nothing more than a
cute-sounding sequence without
any inherent weight. In this way, I
feel the Japanese language is an
extraordinary vessel for transmitting
profound spirituality. This might not
serve as a direct, logical answer to
"why Japanese?", but I believe with
all my heart that those who are
destined to connect with me will
instinctively feel the unseen hand of
fate behind it.

私個人の問題だけでなく、
日本人がことさら自分を卑下し、

縛られて育った背景もあります。
 
私は、今の名前に至る前に、
個人的な深い傷が理由で
生まれてから2度改名しています
(芸名ではなく本名として)
命音、という名前は、
親に与えられた名でなく、
自ら閃き、深い意味と
響きの奇跡で
生まれた宝物です。 

自己を肯定し力づける日本語と、
西洋の「メイン.主体」という意味
のとてつもなく素敵な融合は、
日本語の精神性が
ベースになっています。 

日本語には、
ひとつひとつの漢字の持つ、
意味や歴史、精神性があります。 
命とは文字通り、生命の源であり、
音は私の天職である、音楽の「音」
を表します。これが
「ひらがな」だったら、
私に限っては、
ただ、響きの可愛らしい
全く意味を持たない名前に
なっていたでしょう。

精神性を伝えうる優れたツール
でもあると感じています。質問の、
なぜ日本語で？
という直接的な答えには
ならないかも知れませんが。。
